FURTAZINE-M: Levocetirizine 2.5 mg + Montelukast 4 mg is available as SUSPENSION packed in polyethylene terephthalate 60 ML bottle. Levocetirizine 2.5 mg + Montelukast 4 mg suspension comes under the brand name ‘FURTAZINE-M’. This suspension is used for prescription by General Physicians and children specialists. This suspension is mostly prescribed for children for their ailments concerning allergy symptoms like Asthma, swelling in the nose and airways, skin allergy, fever, sneezing, etc.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
FURTAZINE-M: Levocetirizine + Montelukast SUSPENSION relieves sneezing and runny nose due to allergies. Levocetirizine is one of the popular anti-allergic medicines that stop histamine – a chemical messenger responsible for the symptoms of sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. Montelukast is classified as a leukotriene antagonist helpful in blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This salt helps reduce swelling in the nose and airways.
Indication
FURTAZINE-M: Levocetirizine + Montelukast SUSPENSION in the dose of 2.5 mg/ 4 mg is prescribed in children to cure symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes. This suspension is also used to treat asthma and skin allergies.
Side Effect
Common side effects of combination drugs comprising Levocetirizine and Montelukast are

- Rashes in the skin.
Administration of Dosage
This combination of drugs has two medicines Levocetirizine and Montelukast in tablet form and the strength is 5 mg of Levocetirizine and 10 mg of Montelukast. It can be taken with or without food. The periodicity of 5 mg of Levocetirizine and 10 mg of Montelukast in treating the patient is to be decided by your treating doctor. But, patients are to take treatment for a length of the period as prescribed by their doctor as early stoppage of medicine may result in coming back the same symptoms in that eventuality your condition may worsen.
